President Trump congratulated the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team for winning the 2019 World Cup against the Netherlands in a tweet on Sunday, despite a dispute with one of its co-captains, Megan Rapinoe.
“Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team on winning the World Cup! Great and exciting play. America is proud of you all!” he tweeted:

Trump responded to her comment by tweeting to her, “I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job! We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose.”
“Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!”

President Trump showed more respect to them than they did toward him. This will anger the Left, because they wanted him to insult those women so they could accuse him again of being a sexist. He didn’t walk into their trap, because (as always) he is smarter than them.

You can set the limits of your free speech but not mine. Besides, I find it rude for people who claim to be Americans to root for US Teams to lose, that’s rude.

Give me break. I don’t read minds but the idea of Trump pulling for the Netherlands over the U.S. team is fantasy. But it is yours, not mine.
Face it. You, and unfortunately most Freepers, are disagreeing with President Trump. Plus you missed a really interesting match for the privilege.

I wonder how long before some country gets a few “trans women” on the team and starts dominating women’s soccer?
I too wonder if this was the last “womens” World Cup. It is a shame Rapinoe and others wanted to interject personal politics into what should have been a feel good moment for the U.S. and an inspiration to girls everywhere. They were a truly amazing team with a wide open attacking style and unselfish play on the field, but she exhibited very selfish behavior individually off the field removing the spotlight from her team and their accomplishments.
Politics has so poisoned our nation that many people have become completely unhinged. A bad combination with an army of reporters sticking microphones in their faces and asking loaded questions hoping they say something stupid and “political.” The majority of us are sick of it. I would have loved for my two daughters to have watched this team, but I steered them away lest they pick up the wrong “role models.”
FWIW - I think there are some solid young ladies on the team, but with our media (to include sports media) we don’t hear much from them as they don’t fit the desired interview goals.
Regardless, while it is impossible to not admire the product on the field they would have been even better had they kept politics out of it. That is a shame.
