President Trump

President Trump congratulated the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team for winning the 2019 World Cup against the Netherlands in a tweet on Sunday, despite a dispute with one of its co-captains, Megan Rapinoe.

“Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team on winning the World Cup! Great and exciting play. America is proud of you all!” he tweeted:

Congratulations to 2019 Women’s World Cup Champions @TeamUSA! ⚽️🇺🇸— Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) July 7, 2019

First lady Melania Trump also congratulated the team, saying, “Congratulations to 2019 Women’s World Cup Champions”:

Congratulations to 2019 Women’s World Cup Champions @TeamUSA! ⚽️🇺🇸— Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) July 7, 2019

Trump responded to her comment by tweeting to her, “I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job! We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose.”

“Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!”

Good for you, but where do you get off criticising those of us who are not impressed by adults playing games intended for children. Encouraging national preocupation with sports is part of the communst playbook. I find nothing more ridiculous than a grown man living his life vicarouslthrough some so called sports hero by wearing a jersy with the sports heros name on it.

So people like me who like sports, and who like to root for our USA National Teams, are now suspected by an oracle like you, to be communists. Ok Sherlock, you’re entitled to your opinion no matter how ignorant, stupid and moronic it makes you sound.

LOL! Nice try! I did not call you or anyone who likes sports a communist. A nations preocupation/obsession with sports is one of the many things going on in this country which makes us vulnerable to accepting socialism/communism. Further, it is one of the many things hindering our spiritual development.

“refereed part of the Alaskan Shootout in 1985”

I was there. Those were fun times. I know nothing about any sport (except baseball), but being there with the crowd and experiencing the excitement always is fun.

Then you went to the games at the old Sullivan Arena on campus. The Sully was almost brand new in those days and a good facility. The only problem was they were in the infancy of learning how to cover cold floors as that’s where the ice hockey team played also. It was a bit cold in there on that special floor and the floor was very springy as it was suspended above the floor to keep it away from the ice. This effected shooting and rebounding so much that each year, the teams came in early, if they could, and put some time on the floors getting used to them. Those type of floors can cause injuries like achilles problems. And I always felt a little out of balance when I had to sprint to get ahead of a play.

But, at least, it was a late November tournament and the snow hadn’t dropped yet. It normally stayed a little warmer in Anchorage anyway, thank God.

Thank you. I rest my case, you’re a fanatic. And that is what you’re suggesting, if someone likes sports they’re a communist. It’s what you posted now you deny it. You’re no better than the fanatic progressive dems, just a different side of the same coin. If they get in power they’ll do terrible things as would people like you. You’re a nutcase and your own posts prove it. Loser.

“Then you went to the games at the old Sullivan Arena on campus.”

Funny to hear it called the “old” Sullivan Arena. In my mind it’s new.

I was in the P.W. Director’s Office then and we were in charge of “Project ‘80s”, which build the Sullivan Arena, Boeke Arena, Performing Arts Center, and Convention Center - Egan Center. I was in all of them often with a hard hat before they opened.

So exciting living there then.

I never stated that people who love sports are communist. You are either disengenuius or lack basic reading comprehension skills. My point, which you seem to not understand, is that sports “fanaticism” is harmful to our society. Apparently you did not have time to read the article I provided. Or do you consider the Federalist to be a communist organization?

I confess to being a fanatic when it comes to my love for God, my family, this country, Regarding my political views, I am to the right of Ronald Reagan so I guess I am a fanatic in that regard as well.

Regarding your over reaction to my posts perhaps you are just butthurt because you are a sports fanatic and offended by my opinions. Don’t worry, I am certain you can find a sporting event somewhere today to occupy your time and make you feel better.

Personally I don’t give a crap about your fanatical opinions. I dilike religious fanatics as much as I dislike atheist and progressive political fanatics, both of them lead to terrible violence. This has been true throughout history. I believe in a live and let live world, that’s what the Constitution is all about. Freedom to live life the way one wants. You don’t like sports fine, but then to link the love of sports to communism is an attempt to degrade those who do. Very sly, just like progressive socialist fanatics do it too. As I said, a religious fanatics are just as bad and dangerous to our country as any other fanatic. And just for the record, the only sports I watch anymore are UM football &
women’s basketball and our US National Teams. Hardly the sports fanatic you try to portray. Moron.

The old Sully, as you know, was built in 1983. I understand they started calling it the “Old Sully” long before it got that way.

I guess they’ve replaced a lot of the programs at Sully, which replaced Wells Fargo Sports Center, with the Alaska Airlines Center. As I understand it, the WF center was also the subject of a Title IX lawsuit in 2008 that alleged that the women’s locker rooms were over-crowded compared to the men’s, creating inequality for the women’s teams. Leave it to money to be the center of evil and create problems especially when they couldn’t consistently sell of the 1000 seat center.

I guess the name of the new one, Alaska Airlines, is due to the airline offering a mess of scholarships so they got their free advertising.

I was up there during the previous year, and officiated, in Galena. I was invited on weekends to Fairbanks but I refused to join the local officials association. I couldn’t with my affiliation with the associations I already was a member of. And I was, also, not allowed to call outside the approved rules of the game, sans bylaws based upon safety and game security, or they’d drop me. Had too much invested.

Rooting against any Team USA is pitiful.

Certainly no fanaticism in that statement.

Regardless, I fail to understand how anyone can support sports organizations/teams who allow team members who disrespect our flag, our military, President Trump; our nation. I would never support such bullshite with my time money. If that makes me a fanatic, I then wear the label proudly.

You, on the other hand choose to remain loyal to those who disrespect you and the rest of America. I believe that is the definition of a tool.

Are you really this dumb? My support for any National Team is not personality based. I root for Team USA. Not any individual. I personally do not care about the politics of any of the individuals on the team, nor do I care about any of their sexuality, none of that makes any difference to me. I root for the USA and no progressive is going to keep me from rooting for my country. And spineless scum like many here trying to shame me into rooting against America will not work either. As be said many times, I hate Rapino as much as anyone here but I will not allow her antics to sway me from rooting for America. Y’all can surrender because some scumbag progressive offends you, but I won’t. I will always support the American teams. Why is this so hard to understand? I am not rooting for any of the individuals, I am rooting for Team America. Most of you are simply to selfish, like Rapino, to understand the team concept of which I speak. That much is obvious since I’ve explained it at least 5 times now. I had not noticed before how so many here are just as ignorant as those on DU or HuffPo. Truly amazing.

Ok Mr. Team America, do you support goverment taxes to build sports stadiums for professional teams? Why do I ask? Because I am taxed to pay for such facilities in my county. As you know taxing the public for such facilities is almost universal in the US. Is that a legitimate purpose of government? Why am I forced to pay for what amounts to providing a facility for those addicted to sports to support their habit?

Wtf are you asking me an ignorant question like that? Of course I don’t support any expenditures like that. I hate taxes almost as much as I hate Rapino. What a dumbshit question that was.

Lighten up Francis. Not a dumb shit question at all. Just wanted to know where you were on the conservative/liberal scale regarding legitimate government functions. Of course you know that virtually all of the metro areas in the US with professional sports teams tax the public to build such facilities. Then, instead of operating them like a business to turn profit they farm the work to connected/corrupt sports facility management firms. The governments are only interested in the taxes generated by the fans...food, hotels, etc. Of course the team owners benefit greatly.

That is one of the reasons I do not support professional sports teams. I have no interest in utilizing facilities and resent being taxed for the benefit of others to use them.

Maybe you should vent your ire at the local and state pols that do those things rather than the owner who does what any businessman does, he looks for the best deal. As to my politics, I would describe myself as a Constitutional Originality. My fav Justice of all time was Scalia, an yes I believe the Deep State murdered him in an attempt to get obamascum one last USSC pick. Not a big fan of McConnell generally but he stood tall on that one.

I jus kw there were things about you I liked. Yes I have directed my ire at the local politicos. I was the one behind the lawsuit against the Cincinnati Reds and city of Cincinnati after I uncovered the corrupt management system of the old Riverfront stadium and new stadium deal back in 1996. Another story for another beer someday.

Sui

Certainly, if I’m ever in Cinci I’ll treat you to a beer at your local watering hole to hear that story. I have also seen these things the other way, to wit, when the owner of the Detroit Tigers decided to build a new staduim in downtown he stated he was going to do it totally on his own dime. Unfortunately, the city of Detroit would have none of that and they forced him to make the city I think it was a 20% investor. I may have some details wrong because I was living in San Diego at the time but I am a Michigander so I paid a attention to it.
