I couldn’t agree more- it’s sad that folks find that kind of behavior acceptable nowadays- it’s childish, it’s disrespectful, and it sets a very bad example for kids who look up to athletes-

Look. You are entitled to your opinion and your decision to boycott the match. I understand your rationale and I recognize that the majority of Freepers agree with you.
But I think the impact of a boycott like this is not big enough to be measurable. It’s a waste of time with the only value being that it makes you and most Freepers feel good about themselves.
So you should keep right on boycotting but don’t expect to accomplish anything by it.
OTOH, I did join one boycott where there is at least the possibility of an impact: Gillette. I now use a Norelco electric razor and have given up on Gillette forever.

Sorry- They blatantly dropped the flag on the ground, and even before that were dragging it on ground- then ANOTHER player behind them recognized that this was disrespectful, and quickly picked it up- It doesn’t matter how long it was on the ground- the act was just another act of disrespect-
