DUTCHSINSE zeros in on the source of seismic activity. Apparently, drill points have weakened the earth’s crust. States like Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas have become the “new New Madrid fault”.

Very interesting info from him. We just had a 4.5 earthquake here in Kansas about a couple of weeks ago. It shook the house moderately. The worst earthquake felt here was about 3 years ago when an almost 6.0 hit in northern Oklahoma. I saw the walls move and the coffee slosh pretty good on that earthquake.

Dutchsince thinks if the energy stored up in the plates doesn't move across to middle America to relieve some of the pressure, then he expects there may be another big one in California to release that stored energy. Wherever many of my fellow FReeQs live, stay alert.

Oil wells, gas wells qnd injection wells do not penetrate the entire crust, only a small fraction of the full depth of the crust. The mantle has NEVER been breached by drilling. The most prolific drilling area is the Permian Basin. Areas outside of Midland loom like a plague of pumpjaack-locusts. I know from eyes-on.
Also, it is not an earthquake prone area.

Put into a very simple analogy, does your knee buckle very time you give a blood sample?

There were multiple components to dutchsinse's theory of earthquake forecasting (as I understand it):

Earthquakes don't occur just as random independent events, but can occur in geographical series.
This propagation is due to wave patterns (standing waves?) in magma hundreds of miles deep.
The initiating earthquake causes waves in the deep magma which propagate along plate boundaries.
Actual earthquakes occur at the location of an existing weakness in the earth's crust, due to previous earthquakes, previous volcanic activity, existing faults, or -- perhaps -- man-made intrusions into the earth's crust, such as oil/gas wells or geothermal energy extractions sites.
Once the initial earthquake has stimulated a second earthquake, the wave energy will continue to propagate in the same direction to produce additional earthquakes along the plate boundary.
In addition to this, the magma vibrations from pairs of earthquake sites may stimulate vibrations at a point ("fulcrum point") geographically between the original sites, causing an additional earthquake.
At some point the energy may fail to propagate along the plate boundary and become bottled up. This is relevant to the current California situation. dutch thinks that the energy from the Ridgecrest quake "should" propagate along the southern plate boundary through Yellowstone (producing a storm of mini-quakes) and then down through New Mexico to West Texas to Oklahoma to Missouri (the New Madrid zone) and then further northeast. If it fails to do so, wave energy will continue to gather beneath California, producing another, LARGER quake within "four or five days" .

Conventional earthquake science views earthquakes as caused by build-up of stresses along faults, with earthquakes happening when the strain at a particular location exceeds the capacity of the crust material to sustain it. Since it's hard to know when this will happen, they see earthquakes as essentially random processes, perhaps preceded by geographical signals that will permit short-term forecasting.

By contrast, dutchinsense's wave energy theory can predict, once an initial earthquake occurs, that additional earthquakes will occur in a few day's time further along the plate boundary. Once earthquakes had moved around the Pacific ring of fire from Australia to Alaska, dutch successfully predicted that there would be an earthquake in the Pacific Northwest, and nailed the magnitude within a few decimal points. Then he predicted the next one would be in Northern California, specifically the Bay Area. He was off by 250 miles, which on a global scale is pretty good. As I mentioned, he is predicting either a continuation of the pattern further east OR a larger quake in California, within a few days.
