Guess they feel they need three versions now, like Carrie gotUnfortunately, horror films don't age well. Younger viewers tend to be put off by the dress and dated styles of pacing and cinematography and don't find them frightening in the least.
I remember Phantasm scaring the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid. Not long ago I played it for some much younger cousins who laughed and thought it was stupid. They were right.
