I owned an MG Midget back in the 70s. Great car to drive, but horribly unreliable. I finally gave up and sold it. Later, saw another Midget with a bumper sticker that said, "Every part that falls off of this car is of the finest British craftsmanship."
I don't have a need for one, or a place to park it, but a Triumph Spitfire with reliable innards would be awesome.

Just don’t drive it in the rain. Or snow. Or through a mud puddle.
We had a ‘75 Spitfire, and the electronics (Lucas) were the worst.

I also had an MG in the 70s - rust orange with a navy blue leather interior.
Absolutely loved it and it was soooo much fun to drive.
HOWEVER...
I was on a first name basis with the dealer service manager - the car was totally unreliable.
Sold it after 18 months to a guy that did not know how to drive a manual...and almost replaced it with a TR6. Almost...

I’ve got a 74 midget in the garage that I’m restoring, I had one in the early 80s when they were just old cars.

Have had two Spitfires, 69 and 74. Restored the 69, only vehicle I lost money on, and just drove the 74. But the hoods went up and down almost daily. Just keeping those twin SU carbs in sync was a challenge, besides the electronics.
But damn ... they were fun to drive!
