This is a ploy to prop up her coming new album, nothing more. She knows she has gone over the top and is on the down side so this is an attempt to halt the slide. May work, may not but the point is it is nothing but a pup stunt. Once you sell ownership in music, with out some type of right to the intellectual property like a residual clause, you got NOTTIN.

Yeah, and she called my pickup truck stupid.

Swift produced some bouncy music that, like most music today, was mostly a studio production. Any of hundreds of women could have performed it.

She's reaching her "sell by" date, and is having trouble dealing with that.

Pop stars, like Disney tween stars, are interchangeable. For every one they pick and build a brand around, there are a couple of hundred that could do the part and get the same ratings/sales.

I'm also suspicious of the trajectory of many of these stars. They build a brand off of being pop stars with fairly innocuous work, then go off the deep end, trying to drag their tween audience with them. Almost like it's planned.

Michael Jackson bought the Beatles catalog. Paul McCartney eventually was able to buy it back.
Life goes on.

I wouldn’t know one of her ‘songs’ if I heard it.

Doesn’t she normally write songs about this type of bad breakup? She needs to shake it off.

I don’t know why she thinks she would be able to own her music at a young age. The person who she is talking about is only 3 years older than her, so how did he con her?

The ideal would be to sell her songs to the Trump campaign. 😂

That is likely what will happen in this case also.

Swift should stop emoting and start negotiating with Braun, who is more likely to make a deal than her old label was.

She's such a baby. Her parents signed her to a "label" which didn't exist yet (the founder still worked at DreamWorks), and demanded only a 3% equity stake in Big Machine despite it having no other singed talent. So Swift's Dad made $9 million yesterday, but could gotten $90 million with a competent negotiation in 2004.

Lennon-McCartney also lost control of their catalog, and they were 100x more successful than Swift will ever be. NOO FREAKIN HOO.

Yes. McCartney was giving Jackson investment advice and told him one of the best is to buy the copyrights to pop music catalogs.

McCartney was plenty peeved when Jackson out-bid him for the publishing rights to the Beatles' catalog of songs. Their friendship never recovered.

In a settlement agreement with Sony in 2017, McCartney finally regained control over his and Lennon's catalog of songs.
