Just getting ready to armor up and unload Black Flag Wasp & Hornet WMD Can #3 on a pesky hive under the roof by the pool. They just refuse to DIE. I’d take a propane torch to them but I’d probably get stung ten times plus set the eaves on fire. Classic ‘hold muh beer’ moment. Maybe about half a bottle of bathroom cleaner with bleach will get the point across. At least I’ll have some mighty clean brickwork. LOL

Not sure. I think she has to work until 8 and won't be home until 8:30, plus there's nowhere to actually see a display down here at the bottom of the holler, but we have Boom City USA just a mile away, and Shelton Firworks one exit down. With one set of kids/grandkids living in Birmingham now, and another working nights at an aerospace plant which shall remain unnamed, I don't see a BBQ/pool party in the offing. (But we know that changes on two hours' notice. *sigh*) But, being that Alabama is quite tolerant of holiday fireworks, you can buy anything short of an ICBM down here, and we leave it to the local goofballery to put on a show for us. Unfortunately, their self (or police) imposed curfew seems to be about midnight. And whatever doesn't go up on the 4th, goes up on the 5th, 6th, and 7th, because they all have post-holiday clearances. We used to shoot a few off, but the county sheriff still lives on the other side of the fence line, and he's a real anal retentive Boss Hogg, except around election time.

I hit it with a blast of water for ten minutes afterwards, then used the long pool net to knock it down and scoop it up. Gave it my best lacrosse overhand and threw it in the yard. If I see even one of them alive after all that, I’m getting out the riding mower and backing over it a dozen times. I’ve taken on bigger fire ant hills solo.
