Never heard of or seen any of these brands but it must suck to be Rachel Rae/Ray right now

All of those are the expensive, so called healthy dog foods. Dogs seemed to live well on Purina Dog Chow and Ken-L-Ration in the past

Never heard of those brands? They are most of the premier brands of dog and cat food. Acana and Orijen are extremely expensive foods using human quality meats and fish, not leftover parts. I am happy not to see Wellness on the list, although my little Zizu kitty is not fond of it. I am also relieved to see that Solid Gold is not on the list, because Zizu loves that one.

This news item must really be rocking the knowledgeable pet owners' world, because this is like saying Lexus, Cadillac, Lamborghini, Mercedes, etc. cause health problems. But this article won't even register with those people who feed their pets garbage like Friskies, Meowmix, etc. which are mostly cheap grains.

They are the ultra premium dog foods read expensive. My dogs get Blue Buffalo. The vetenary nutrition program is funded in part by Nestle-Purina which uses corn and rice in lower level foods and in their premium level Pro-Plan. Their premium level foods include lintel flour and pea pulp, I did notice they supplement some of their foods with Taurine.

It’s a preliminary study with something like 524 dog sample size. The articles I read dont show the percentage increase estimated due to the foods listed nor how much food required to have statistically significant increase in risk. Nor was causality proved. It’s at best a preliminary study.

I have seen a lot of these brands at our local Petco and Petsmart stores.

Our, very spoiled, toy poodle refuses to eat dog food. He eats whatever is on the table with us, mostly meat. He seems quite healthy. Perhaps he knew something was wrong with the dog food, before the experts knew.

Mostly higher end foods (not so much now) Unfortunately my 4 year old has been on Nature’s Domain all her life.(Costco Brand, both Canned and Dry)
