Was there some athlete who refused to meet either President Clinton or President Obama? However, that athlete met only with GOP leaders in House and Senate? Was there anybody who did such a thing?

No, President Trump should continue inviting champion sport teams to the White House. Let those who want to attend do so. This says more about President Trump than those who wish to stomp their feet and make a big public display out of declining. Only the liberal base is applauding Rapinoe here.
