He was just getting started. The last line in the article is priceless.

Why is this 2015 kerfuffle relevant now?

“Rockin’ In the Free World”, like “Southern Man” and other Young’s songs is a slam on the USA. Like Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”, it’s an anti-USA song that most folks think is patriotic. Maybe Trump picked it due to it’s digs at GHW Bush.

Fun Fact...
When the 60s psychedelic rock group (Strawberry Alarm Clock) broke-up, their lead guitarist Ed King joined Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Although I have both Buffalo Springfield and CSN&Y in my collection, I will admit that was never rally into Neil Young. However:
I saw him at Coachella in 2016, he was great. I expected him to get political, he did not. He did promote one cause though, but it was innocuous and not offensive.
I also gained a lot of respect for him when I learned of how much he has done for his special needs son. The man has a big heart, and I can overlook some things when a man is doing the right thing for his family.

Young should be flattered his song was used; it’s not like it would be appropriate in Beijing or Pyongyang.
How about this: Trump can use “Old Man” in relation to “Feel the Bern” Sanders.

The last line:
Trump has a history of raking opponents over the coals on the social networking site, though he told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity recently that he would drop the Twitter battles if he makes it into the White House.

I was born in Florida just near the Alabama line. My Grandpa owned land in both Florida and Alabama. I consider Alabama my second home.

Neil ditched his wife (although .... I don’t know what actually happened) and apparently lost his ranch to his ex, and spends a lot of time now with Daryl Hannah

Roger that...I learned that a few years ago. Ed King was a great talent and songwriter. RIP.
