Some of America's biggest sellers of guns and ammo are suffering from a lack of "fear-based buying," as consumers aren't worried about stricter gun control while Donald Trump is in office.

Still need ammo for practice.
Did Dick’s contribute to this article?
I think everyone who wanted a firearm and didn’t previously have one went out and bought one when Obama was president. A lot of people out there don’t want massive collections. They just wanted to get an AR-15 before they were banned. Now they have one.
Dick's went and pulled the guns off their shelves that people are actually buying. They left the hunting rifles. Americans aren't buying hunting rifles so much these days. Hunting, sadly, is declining as a pastime and the secondhand market is saturated with grandpa's old bolt action 30.06.
In other words Obama’s absence from office injures arms dealers!
The Dick’s near me never had AR15’s, just hunting rifles.
Buying will ramp up like never before around election time. Look at the crop of nuts running against Trump.
As far as I can tell, all of the ‘Rat POTUS wannaBees are all in for gun grabing and implementing Venezuelan Democratic Socialism.
April Sets Gun Sales Record May 7, 2018
The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) ran 2,233,213 checks in April, according to an FBI document.
That's nearly 90,000 more checks than the previous April record set in 2016.
It also represents the second month in a row to set a record with March seeing 2,767,699 checks.
April 2019 National Instant Background Check (NICS) Number is new Record May 15, 2019
If demand is down, prices should drop. If people aren’t in the market for a new gun, then buy up on cheaper ammo and spend more time on the range or in the woods using it.
So far bought three this month and various ammo calibers for testing to reduce recoil in my bedside 45, desk weapon, and carry pistols. Prices are down for handguns and some nice surplus have hit the wholesalers. Missed a chance to pick up a nice new EAA Witness in poly frame for $269 ... darnit.
The really strange thing to me is that quality collectibles - like pre-64 Winchesters and older Colts and Smith & Wessons and original 1911A1s are really being held tightly and those few that are available are leaping up in price. Something like hoarding going on with the older stuff - which is what I am most interested in.
In Washington state theres plenty of fear. Theyre not banning all semi-automatics but after July 1, it will be extremely inconvenient to acquire one. Theres so much red tape involved some dont believe compliance is going to be possible, and its going to cover every auto-loader from .22s to ARs. Buying has gone through the roof. Lower assemblies are not available anywhere now. Its not supposed to affect wheel guns, bolt actions, lever guns, etc., but we all know more is coming as the Democrats are in control like they are in California.
They were bound to suffer once Obama aka the greatest arms merchant in history was no longer in office.
I have some father’s day cash earmarked for ammo
I’ve purchased 4 rifles since the president took office.
So, it ain’t me. My last one was 3 weeks ago.
It’s good. It’s good. Still looking for Jordanian Llama 9mm pistols. Have to have the crown engraved on the back end of the slide. Anyone? PM me.
It'll ramp up in NH once we move there and get out of the People's Republic of NY.
With only 16 months before the election, I’ve upped the buying back to 2k rds/month.
I guess they will just have to live off the profits they made while gouging us during the o-hole years.
