The doctors whose books I cited, all have a much greater financial interest in performing open-heart surgeries and gastric bypass surgeries, and in prescribing medications, then they do in writing books advocating a whole food, plant-based diet that actually prevents the diseases that they make their money treating. That’s why I trust them. And all the books I cited are very thorough, and well researched. Besides, financial interest or not, I’m not going to just trust my health to the random opinions of random internet posters. Especially here on FR, where, let’s be honest with ourselves, most people’s opinion on a healthy diet is motivated by their world view. I have been on here long enough to know this.

I guess it depends on one’s opinion of the honesty of FReepers here, many of whom are under doctor’s care, on medical prescriptions, and at least claim to drastically reduced or eliminated their meds (i.e., it wasn’t their imaginations telling them their diets were working, it was their blood tests). We have different opinions of them, so I guess we’ll have disagree here.

Oh yea, one more thing, the American Diabetes Association is finally telling Americans the OBVIOUS too. I guess they were getting tired of being laughed at by all the people with success stories.
