Not ridiculous. They do. They cause heart disease and cancer. Particularly fats from animal sources. I recommend you watch the film Forks Over Knives with Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

Dont believe me? Go and read what archeologists know happened to humans when they started to settle and farm and began to shift from a high protein and fat diet to carbohydrate centric one.
Heres a hint.. health generally declined.
Too many simple carbs cause cardiovascular inflamation, that inflamation leads to plaque catching on the damaged arterial walls etc.. saturated fats do not cause heart disease. Inflamation does... and large amounts of carbs cause this.
