Seven motorcyclists were killed and three others injured when they collided with a pickup truck going the opposite direction in New Hampshire, police said.
Authorities received a call around 6:30 p.m. Friday about a motor vehicle crash on Route 2 in Randolph, New Hampshire State Police Capt. Chris Vetter said.
The pickup truck, a 2016 Dodge 2500, was traveling west on Route 2 while the motorcyclists were traveling east, police said.
State police collision analysis and reconstruction teams are investigating the crash, and will continue overnight in conjunction with local police and the Coos County Attorney's Office.
"Route 2 is closed for the foreseeable future. The scene is pretty large and there's a lot of work to be done," Vetter said. "I don't know that I have ever seen a crash with this much loss of life. It was a pretty significant accident."

Per the presser, probably no movement on a change in helmet laws after this. And the speaker mentioned helmets likely wouldn’t have improved survival in this case.
BTW, I do hope there is some footage somewhere of what happened, be it dash cam or helmet cam.
I have a dash cam for my car and my son got one after he was in an accident where someone blew a red light as he was making a turn. Destroyed his Volvo.
Fortunately, there were many witnesses who stopped to vouch for him cause he was the 20 something guy and the woman coming in the other direction was a past middle aged woman.
And guess who the cops are going to believe?
Likely, that’s true that helmets would not have changed the outcome. And any accident that takes out that many motorcycles was violent enough to do fatal damage even if their heads were unscathed.
And I agree that the helmet law is not likely to change.
I know the nanny staters want to use every exception to make a law over, but people in NH are big on their personal freedom and government regulations are not welcome.
I didn’t think they’d reveal a cause this early. But I’d bet they already have a good idea what happened because there were surviving witnesses and lots of physical evidence at the scene.
In one photo of the trailer and a parked bike, there appears to be a body in the brush, look forward and above the rear on the trailer.
The accident occurred 500 feet from the B&B that most of the bikers were staying at. I’m guessing that factors into the accident. (Turning onto the road, slow or stopped waiting for others, etc??)

Now I'm wondering 3 things: Is the guy a citizen? If not, is he here legally? And was he higher than a kite at the time of the accident?
The guy is from the town next to mine. Significant Russian population. They are, generally, Christian immigrants, hard working, family centered and legal.
Of course this guy could be one who isn’t any of those things.

More on the company that employed the driver. The owner’s name is Dartanyan Gasanov. This accident is starting to remind me of that limo crash in Upstate NY a while back. If there are illegals involved, wonder if any federal agency in addition to the NTSB will stick an oar in.

The are no illegals here...unless they were on the bikes. This driver was on his second job with the company. This sounds like inexperience.
I've noticed them doing that over the last several years.

Ironically, if my dear friend Merle had NOT been wearing a helmet, he would be alive today.
He went down trying to avoid another biker who crashed and he tucked and rolled and was perfectly fine and alive, almost to the soft shoulder of a pasture right there, until the oncoming van that exploded the other biker came to a stop right on top of him.
[she said she couldn’t stop sooner because her little dog was on the floor under her feet and she didn’t want to hurt him..and she was drunk]
The front rods under her van *just* touched Merle’s helmet...and snapped his neck.
Mere millimeters killed him because the van came to a stop over him and there was enough room for his skinny body to just pass under it.
Except for that big police issue helmet.
There are always exceptions.
I have NO sympathy for drunk drivers and especially those who kill others.
I passed a horrific accident on I-81 south of Syracuse one day where there was nothing left of a car cause some drunk female was driving the wrong way, northbound, in the southbound lane.
My brother’s m-i-l was killed by a drunk driver who did not have his headlights on at night and he got a slap on the wrist by the local magistrate.

So it turns out the Ukrainian biker massacre dude has many DUIs and was found in his room with heroin paraphernalia when they went to arrest him.
Eyewitnesses say he swerved right into the group.
Survivors watched their friends and their bikes explode in front of them.
Many are saying it may have been either intentional or he was doped to the gills.
He’s here on a green card.
I favor Turkish DUI laws.
They pull you out of the car, shoot you on the side of the road and then sell your car at auction.

A drunk/high skank tore off the leg *and* hip of another friend.
It’s a miracle she survived.
Oddly, yet another friend, a local DJ and his paramedic wife just happened to be behind her when it happened.
She kept her from bleeding/shocking out while the DJ friend chased the driver to her home.

And I thought Norway’s rules were tough. If you get a DUI you lose your license forever and your car. And nobody in your family household can own a car. (The idea being that you could borrow it and drive it.)
So how high is the Turkish DUI rate, do you suppose?

In 26 years, I have NEVER seen any riders or groups do that.
Sounds like crap, to me.
Yeah - don’t know. I’m just thinking that being so close to the driveway might have had something to do with it. I also think that long trailer with no load also played a part. And a young guy from Russia that likes booze and heroin.
