Likely, that’s true that helmets would not have changed the outcome. And any accident that takes out that many motorcycles was violent enough to do fatal damage even if their heads were unscathed.
And I agree that the helmet law is not likely to change.
I know the nanny staters want to use every exception to make a law over, but people in NH are big on their personal freedom and government regulations are not welcome.
Ironically, if my dear friend Merle had NOT been wearing a helmet, he would be alive today.
He went down trying to avoid another biker who crashed and he tucked and rolled and was perfectly fine and alive, almost to the soft shoulder of a pasture right there, until the oncoming van that exploded the other biker came to a stop right on top of him.

The front rods under her van *just* touched Merle’s helmet...and snapped his neck.
Mere millimeters killed him because the van came to a stop over him and there was enough room for his skinny body to just pass under it.
Except for that big police issue helmet.
