A former teacher has revealed the various reasons she decided to quit her job as a kindergarten teacher in a Facebook post.
Jessica Gentry, 34, from Harrisonburg, Virginia, took to Facebook on Thursday, June 13, to reveal the reason she quit her job at Stone Spring Elementary School after 12 years of teaching.
The mother-of-one listed a number of reasons that drove her to quit her job, including having a lack of support from children's parents, an emphasis being placed on using technology to teach, and the overall feeling that 'kids deserve better'.

They also are learning less than kids a few years ago. Lesson plans are being dumbed down as a result. Teachers have to throw away materials from 10 years ago because the kids couldn’t handle it.

If she thinks she had it bad, wait till NYC and other cities implement rules that say you can’t arrest or suspend black students who cause mayhem. She got out just in time.

Both. They aren’t receiving any enrichment at home. You can’t teach them what kids were capable of doing ten years ago. No attention span, no discipline.

Speaking as a high school English teacher, they are also not getting any religious education, so a huge percentage of cultural references in classic literature are completely lost on them.

The schools in my home town were pretty outstanding until the mid to late 1960’s. Things really went downhill in the 70’s. Since then, they have been terrible. The Democrats ran everything in the state back then. I don’t think a Republican won anything in the state until the 70’s. Everything but the schools was pretty terrible and corrupt. Since then, the Republicans have run everything for the most part. We have lower taxes and far more honest government, but the schools have gone completely in the toilet. Something must have changed other than the party in charge.
Yes, I’m being snarky. Literally everyone knows why the schools are terrible now. Some are more willing to say it out loud than others, but everybody knows. Some are quite willing to lie to themselves, but they know. It actually is because of the Democrats, just not in the way you can talk about in polite society, at least not before a few drinks, when the truth comes out.
“Nice neighborhoods” with “good schools”. Liberals are actually right; those are code words. Everybody knows it. When is that “honest conversation” scheduled? Does the Left really want to have it?
HAHA, right on, right on! Nobody wants to hear that conversation, they want to stick their fingers in their ears, it will unfortunately never happen. We could have had it 30 years ago too, but never happened.
Kids have absolutely no healthy fear of adults. It is sickening to watch so-called adults falling all over kids, afraid of damaging that “self esteem”. The kids who knew how to behave themselves were the ones with healthy attitudes.
