Drug use can exacerbate sleep apnea with potentially fatal results, but the report does not make clear whether Fisher took any drugs on the day in December when she suffered a cardiac incident on a international flight.

She died of a heart attack. Drug abuse and sleep apnea might have weakened her heart, but heart attack killed her.

Excerpt from the linked LA Times article in post 11.

The tox screen found four drugs in her body - heroin, Ecstasy, cocaine, and traces of other opiates that may, or may not, have been related to the heroin.

The proximate cause of her death was cardiac arrest, but why her heart stopped beating, and when she took the drugs, could not be precisely determined.

Just read the report. No where in it is an MI mentioned.

But the coroner did state how limited his report was by the fact a full autopsy was not conducted.

Chronic cocaine use is associated with stroke, coronary artery disease, and myocardial infarction, which may result in sudden death. Notably, cocaine induced coronary atherosclerosis may be sub-clinical and undetected. Carrie Fischer’s weight and other medical issues would have added to her susceptibility to a heart attack.
