I feel very strongly that what we just witnessed with respect to Iran was a feint by President Trump ... including all the FAKE NEWS stories about POTUS going against the advice of Pompeo and Bolton.
The purpose of a feint is to set up an opponent for the real blow to follow.
Instead of just blowing something up to make a point, POTUS may be thinking about regime change.

I tend to agree with you. I was wondering if this feint was also used to “out” some within the Trump administration (FBI, CIA etc) who scurried to tell our enemies what we “decided” to do. Set it in motion - watch who scurries to go tell. And as you say - confuse Iran.

1. Iran shoots down drone.
2. POTUS meets with military leadership, directs planning.
3. Military comes back to POTUS with options.
4. POTUS chooses a course of action.
5. POTUS calls Congressional leadership to WH.
6. Cuck and Nancy are filmed high-fiving after leaving (thinking, “We’ve got him now!”)
7. Military ordered to prepare forces.
8. NY Times suddenly reports the details that Trump waved off the strike at the last minute.
9. Reuters has a story saying Iranians claim that the US warned them of a strike through an Omani emmissary.
10. POTUS says, wasn’t a proportionate strike and he’s got plenty of time.

How did word of the strike get to the NYT and Iran?
If you’re a military, and you get word of a pending strike against your forces, you dig the foxholes a little deeper, spread your forces out a bit, disperse your equipment - whatever you can in the time you have to improve your defensive position.
Looks like an intelligence bonanza to me. Who cares about a drone? POTUS now knows if someone at the meeting leaked, knows it went to NYT who broke the story, knows Iran was warned. And we know what Iran’s plan is when they’re expecting a strike. For future reference. ;)
