“The Look of Love” is a popular song composed by Burt Bacharach and Hal David and sung by English pop singer Dusty Springfield, which appeared in the 1967 spoof James Bond film Casino Royale. The soundtrack version is better than the studio version.

A lot of covers.

Apparently Sergio Mendes has a cult following. He can’t even walk down the street in South America...

That being said don’t expect to make a lot selling his records at used record shops in NYC.

Dusty Springfield’s album soundtrack version has long been a VERY HIGHLY rated audiophile version - extraordinary sound quality in both the recording and the original mastering.

Herb Alpert and Lani Hall (the brunette) have been married since 1973.

My dad had all of the Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass and the Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 records. I played them a lot. I still like them to this day.

Their version of the Beatles’ “Fool On the Hill” is my favorite.

Jobim was my favorite, loved his "Wave" album.

I went to a Sergio Mendez concert about eight years ago in a small club. Nearly everone there was in their sixties and seventies. Like me, I think hearing Mas Que Nada brought many like me back to our teen years, listening to Brazil 66 from an AM station with a small 9 volt transistor radio pressed to our ear.

My dad, too. The Herb Alpert stuff. My dad played the trumpet (back in the day).

If I am not mistaken, the group, Brasil ‘66 eventually became Brasil ‘88. I wonder if they ever had the Brasil ‘99 or later...
