My boy is 8 months old now. He looks like he will be big dog when he is older, he is already weighting in at 70 pounds.
We have coyotes around here that are not scared of humans. Hoping he will guard the cats and chickens here. We loose free range chickens all the time. He is already alerting me if something (coyotes and local bear) comes through the property.

Ive never even thought twice about that.
Of course people come first. Thank goodness the child only had minor injuries. If I lived in/adventured in areas cougars are known to roam, I'd have a couple of hound dogs with me at all times.
