If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be? I would choose Donald Trump and my husband would choose Bibi.
I remember when he hit a ball into the woods and they called him Tree Levino.
I couldnt pick just one. NASCAR legend Junior Johnson would be on my list. So would Clarence Thomas. And the legendary NHL goalie, lawyer and Canadian Member of Parliament Ken Dryden might be the most fascinating of them all.
Lee Trevino
My Mom
I would also enjoy having lunch with Richard Nixon at his favorite restaurant, El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. The menu still features "The President's Choice"--a combination meal featuring a beef taco, a chile relleno and an enchilada with rice and beans.
General George Patton
I agree with your reply. I too am looking forward to asking Jesus about Paul’s writings.
I have been an Ex-Episcopalian since the Episcopal Church elected an actively gay bishop in 2003. An EC priest referred to the Bible as “some book”. The bishop, Gene Robinson, left his wife and four daughters to marry his new spouse. Other EC priests have said that they are both Christian and Muslim, or that they are both Christian and Wiccan. The National Cathedral (Episcopalian) in DC hosts Muslim services. Any other questions? I landed in an Evangelical Presbyterian Church and have never looked back.
Winston Churchill ...
I’ve been sort of hoping that Reformed Christians might be more than willing to ask Paul about Jesus’ teachings. I keep being disappointed.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
No, no other questions and I certainly understand your motivations; for my part, my Episcopal pastor is pretty conservative on most issues, of course this is in Alabama; I will donate money to my local church but won’t give a cent that goes elsewhere.
Jesus, and not only/just for the religious aspects of it.
I will say that I miss the liturgy of the EC, plus the EC has the most beautiful old churches. Christ Church in Alexandria, VA, was the home church of George Washington and Robert E. Lee. There are plaques on their usual pews but activists want to remove them.
You know what’s not fair? No one asks these historic figures if THEY want to have lunch with the losers who want to have lunch with them!
“Hey, Ghenghis, who are you having lunch with?”
“Some guy named bagster. What about you, Augustus?”
“Someone named Larry. How about you, Cleopatra?”
“A guy named Lazamataz.”
“Better bring a bodyguard!”
My father donated $10,000 to Barry’s campaign in 1964.
No doubt. My Dad.
Hitler and Manson. Yikes!
“The issues are that Mr. Younger is Attorney General, and I imagine he is a good man and does a good job. I don’t know him. I can’t judge him. But I know he has got me here. He set me in this seat.
“Mr. Bugliosi is doing his job for a paycheck. That is an issue. He is doing whatever he is doing. Whether he thinks it is right or not, I couldn’t say. That is up to him.
“
Mr. Bugliosi is a hard-driving prosecutor, with a polished education. Semantics, words. He is a genius. He has got everything that every lawyer would want to have except one thing: a case. He doesn’t have a case.”
