MIAMI – The Florida Department of Health has been notified about a man who has been spotted at several local hospitals wearing an unofficial physician lab coat, a Jackson Health System spokeswoman confirmed Thursday in a statement.
According to the statement, the man was last spotted Wednesday by public safety staff at the Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus.
Police were notified and the man was issued a trespassing warning and a cease and desist letter, the spokeswoman said.
“Jackson is taking this suspicious activity seriously and has notified the Florida Department of Health, which launched an investigation,” the statement read.
According to the cease and desist letter, the man in question is Wilvince Kemmy Bazil, of Miami.
The cease and desist letter states that Bazil also posted photos of himself online in a Jackson Health/University of Miami doctor’s white lab coat, although he is not a doctor or employee at the hospital.
“Your illegal use of this impersonation will deceive and/or confuse the public, staff and patients into thinking you are affiliated with the Public Health Trust,” the letter signed by Assistant County Attorney Suzanne Villano-Charif said.
Photos from Bazil’s Facebook page show him in a doctor’s coat that has his name on it and identifies him as an OB-GYN. Read more.

I have been in healthcare my entre adult life, never heard of such a thing.

It happens. I used to work for the AZ Chiropractic Board. There were doctors who lost their license because they were giving every woman who came in their office a vagina adjustment and filming it.
