Microsoft is bringing back its popular Flight Simulator game. It’s just announced a new instalment to the Flight Simulator series, and the new iteration looks absolutely stunning.

Microsoft hasn’t shared many details about the game, but it will be available for the PC when it launches in 2020. The game will be available in 4K, and it is powered by Microsoft Azure AI.

“Coming 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator is the next generation of one of the most beloved simulation franchises. From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world. Create your flight plan and fly anywhere on the planet. Enjoy flying day or night and face realistic, challenging weather conditions,” Microsoft said.

The visuals in the trailer look absolutely amazing, and 2020 couldn’t come soon enough. Take a look.

Does it have a 737 Max version?

What does that suppose to mean?

> The Solitaire in Win10 wants to go online for anything above beginner level. I don’t understand why that would be. <

I don’t have Win10. So this is just a wild, off-the-wall guess. If you’re a serious solitaire player, Microsoft would like to know that. So they can try to sell you more card games.

(Sorry for being so suspicious. But I’ve been that way ever since I caught Bill Gates going through my curbside trash.)

Microsoft abandoned the Flight Simulator Community many years ago offering NO SUPPORT. Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3d has totally replaced it as has X plane. Most real simmers wouldn’t spend a dollar on Microsoft’s new version. I’m sure most simmers won’t bother supporting someone who threw us away years ago.

I loved RSX-11M!

My recollection is that it could run on a 16K PDP-11 machine.

I have to admit that I never had any real problems with any Microsoft operating system prior to Windows 8. Windows NT was a good system. Windows 95 was an improvement over DOS 6 and Windows 3.11. Windows 98 2nd edition was great. Windows ME never actually gave me any problems and Windows 2000 was good. We were mostly able to ignore Windows 8 and there were some fixes that made it tolerable if you bought a computer that came installed with it.

Windows 10 has been a major pain, but I have to admit that occasionally the updates actually do solve actual problems. I had to get a new laptop a week ago because the crappy hinges on the one I bought a year and a half ago broke. Fortunately, it was still covered by Costco’s extended warranty, but unfortunately they would not fix it and just gave my money back. One would think that after a year and a half you could find a better deal on a computer for the same money, but I got the other one on a good special. So I had to get another special to get as good a deal.

So the newer computer has a few minor advantages, it has those 2 in 1 hinges and has more metal in it. It turns out that the 2 in 1 form factor along with the touch screen and electronic “pen” actually looks like it might be useful for me. But the Start menu in Windows 10 was screwed up... who knows why. When I reinstalled Microsoft Office, the icons for the trial version which I had uninstalled never went away, so I had two icons for each office program which looked identical, but one of them would not work. Then none of the programs that I installed from the Microsoft store showed up in the menu.

I fiddled around for hours trying to fix those problems. Then I let the machine take the latest updates thinking that there was a slight chance that it would help. Incredibly the problem actually went away and this computer actually is working quite well. It is the first time I can remember one of Microsoft’s updates solving an obvious problem that I was having with a computer.

It’s not a sidescroller and never has been.
The depicted scenes were done with an outside view. you have any view you want to set it to, and many different options.

Of course its not a side scroller, sheesh. I just think flight simulators may not appeal to today’s gamer. We’ll see.

“Will it run on my Windows Me? I hope so. Because I’m getting tired of playing solitaire.”

Windows 10 is a ginormous piece of shit! I have a notebook running windows 10 and the OS is constantly updating itself and at times it takes over 20 minutes to start up. Also the housekeeping background processes totally dominate the CPU and hard drive usage. I predicted it within three years Microsoft will have to abandon its craptastic operating system and go with Linux.

Maybe Microsoft will have improved the flaw of the Boeing 737 X-Max 8 plane.
