Probably the greatest life of Jesus story ever done. I have it on DVD and watch it every Easter season along with the Ten Commandments(Can’t beat Chuck telling Yul, ‘Let me people go’).
Yes, “Jesus of Nazareth” was very well done.
His direction of Robert Powell in the role of Jesus, part of which involved the actor not blinking in any of his scenes / footage, was profoundly effective. Mesmerizing, really. Along with Ford and Kubrick, one of the few real genius film directors.
