That’s why I watch almost exclusively British mystery shows now. They are far less PC than American shows.

A couple of years ago there was criticism that Midsommer Murders was just too white. I believed in the last year or two they did add an Indian (dot, not feather) here and there. Can’t have people remembering what England used to look like, can we.

I do enjoy Midsommer Murders but I have two nits to pick. One, the new detective character who replaced his cousin is not nearly as likable. Two, with all those limeys getting offed that little hamlet must have a higher murder rate than the south side of Chicago.

The show's producer caused that dust-up when he said this:

"We just don't have ethnic minorities involved. Because it wouldn't be the English village with them. It just wouldn't work," he said.

He was being candid, and was quickly fired, after he produced 14 series and made the show an institution.

After that the new folks added a dash or two of woke to keep the pee-cee police at bay.
