In Arkansas they used to have yearly MVI (Safety Inspection) done at Auto Service Shops or Gas Stations.
Then they did away with it in exchange for Random Roadside Safety Inspectons. Now AR LEO have the tool to pull you over and Search your Vehicle. This gives them TOTAL ACCESS to the vehicle to preform the MVI:
Interior to check Hibeam Indicator, Seatbelts and Parking Brake functionally.
Under the Hood to check Brake Fluid level, Emmision System Compliance.
In the Trunk to check Lights and Spare Tyre condition.
This provides total access to search for Drugs, Alcohol, Firearms any other Contraband Items.
And they Don’t have to have Provide any “Probable Cause”.
Very Convenient isn’t it ???
I didn’t realize southern states were so statist. Here in eastern WA we have nothing like that.
