WHY NBC GOT RID OF JAY LENO

News is leaking out from Hollywood executives in-the-know that the Obama White House had been leaning on, pressuring executives at NBC for two years to replace Jay Leno because the comedian was criticizing Obama every night. Obama didn't like it and considered it a racist attack on him.

After data came to light that $100's of millions had been spent on First Family vacations during a recession, Mrs. Obama's unpopular new laws that changed food in America's schools and other negative news including the disastrous Obamacare roll-out & website mess, Jay Leno took his comedy to a new level and his ratings skyrocketed -- none of the other comics were so bold. NBC couldn't stomach the fact that Leno's jokes about Obama were always right on target about the first black president.. And left-leaning Democrat executives at NBC were being harassed by Obama himself who thought the comedy was a racist attack on him.

GOLDEN OLDIES FROM JAY: "I was going to start off tonight with an Obama joke, but I don't want to get audited by the IRS."

On NSA surveillance: "We wanted a president who listens to all Americans -- now we have one."

On a new IRS commissioner: "He's called 'acting commissioner' because he has to act like the scandal doesn't involve the White House."

On closing the Guantanamo prison for terrorists: "If he really wants to close it, turn it into a government-funded solar power company. The doors will be shut in a month."

Concerning the Benghazi, Associated Press, and IRS scandals: "Remember in the old days when President Obama's biggest embarrassment was Joe Biden?"

On saying he didn't know about the IRS scandal: "He was too busy not knowing anything about Benghazi to not know anything about the IRS."

"The White House has a new slogan about Benghazi: Hope and change the subject."

"It's casual Friday, which means that at the White House, they're casually going through everybody's phone calls and records."

"It is not looking good for President Obama. Today his teleprompter took the fifth."

"Fox News has changed its slogan from 'Fair and Balanced' to 'See, I told you so!'"

On commencement address: "He told the young graduates their future is bright unless, of course, they want jobs."

On a Chicago man who set a record for riding a Ferris wheel: "The only other way to go around and around in a circle that many times is to read the official report on Benghazi."

On White House claims of ignorance on the scandals: "They took 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' out of the Pentagon and moved it into the White House."

Now the last and I think best..... "These White House scandals are not going away anytime soon. It's gotten so bad that people in Kenya are now saying he's 100 percent American."

"The right ignores and disdains artistic creativity and now we have two or three generations of people who brag that they do not understand or appreciate modern art the way fools once argued that they didn’t understand or appreciate impressionism. "

There are many, many, many forms of artistic creativity. A hard-core scientist is as much an artist as any paint-dauber. So is a master tool and die maker.

Picasso's work is simply ugly. And the fools who have an elephant crap on a canvas, hang the canvas on the wall, and call it "art" are idiots.

You think Picasso's works are ugly, ok? That is a personal opinion but does not negate his work, ok? Any more than if I were to say I don't like Rembrandt. That has no effect on the greatness of Rembrandt, ok?

Picasso had many moods and styles in his long life. You are all focusing on cubism which you do not understand. It was a positive reaction to certain artists who created 3-D images in order to explore objects from different angles and points of view.

Picasso was classically trained and produced many naturalistic paintings that would make nice birthday cards if you looked through his entire portfolio. In fact, I have on my wall one from his rose period of a little Spanish boy. By the way, Rembrandt and the Impressionists also were told they were hapless painters in their time. In the late 19th and early 20th century, riots would break out over new styles in painting. And not just by ill-educated ordinary people but by the educated art connoisseurs and patrons. Again, the dog barks but the caravan moves on.

Picasso was a great artist but also a man whose main readings were the Katzenjamer Kids. He broke off his friendship with Gertrude Stein because she gave a bundle of them (from American newspapers) to his ex-girlfriend and not to him. I doubt he was highly versed in Marx & Engels. In fact, I doubt he cracked a book over it. He was like most artists, he followed the left-wing herd while becoming a millionaire. Stein & Toklas remained rock-ribbed Republicans and were very poor during WWII and were forced to sell many great works of art. Such is life! If you approach art only through a political lens, you’ll miss a lot.

Agreed. A good artist is a good artist irrespective of their politics.

The issue for me, not being an art aficionado, is that it is abstract and therefor becomes subjective; a matter of opinion. I guess that if you are able find two or more people who agree, then that an abstract artist can be “great.”

I prefer a realist like Davinci and Rembrandt. I especially like Davinci because he was more than just an artist but a scientist and engineer. Maybe an Einstein of his time.

I don’t know if Leonardo or Rembrandt were realists - I’m not sure the term was ever known in their lifetime. What you mean is that you can see immediately what they are portraying. That is sometimes labelled as naturalism although that term wouldn’t be known by them either. This is what people hated about the impressionists - you couldn’t always tell what they were representing. Today, of course, people who know nothing about art can appreciate them. Their eye has become used to seeing.

Davinci always had an elaborate scene behind the subject and he paid extra detail to curtains and cloth. Incredible! The Annunciation is one of my favorites.

You really should use the name Leonardo. DaVinci is the town where he was born. He was always known as Leonardo, not DaVinci. I’m not being snarky just being accurate. Dan Brown has a lot to answer for.

I’m lazy. Too much to type in my smart phone. :) sorry.

Ya. I wrote a paper on him in college. I was introduced to him through my interest in science and engineering. His perception of the world was incredible and his attention to detail was acute. It is clear that he had a fascination with the world, too.

Probably why I don’t like Picasso and other abstract artists. I look for perfection and beauty and abstract art is, well, subjective. I guess it might be like a gestalt and it is supposed to trigger some imperceptible part of the brain. But it doesn’t work for me.

What was he supposed to say in that forum? By that criteria, everyone who ever subsequently worked with Fonda or associated with her was a commie. Dolly Parton, Jon Voight, Jack Lemmon...

What was he supposed to say in that forum? Well, he certainly didn't have to drool all over himself gushing out praise for her and what she did during Vietnam! He put her on a pedestal, practically calling her a hero! He obviously was onboard with her cause.

Not only did she want the US to become communist, she was actively rooting for the North Vietnamese to win!
