Iran probably thinks if the US were to have some sort of military strike it would rally the citizens, who have been protesting against the Mullahs for a while now.

IMHO crippling sanctions plus arming an insurrection is a better way to go.

I’m a Monkeys Uncle. They know the boat or mini sub that planted the mine. I bet we know the names of the man, his wife and kids. I want all the data before we start to set off WW III. If it comes to war it will not be US vs Iran—it will be a grand alliance of Evil we fight. Red China, Pakistan. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Sudan, Somalia, and maybe Russia. EU will not help us—Nor will Mexico or Canada. Maybe Brazil and England will help us—Perhaps Japan and South Korea. Russia will sit back to pick up the pieces when the war is over.
