I dont know diamond much. I know that its light and brittle. It doesn’t let itself get cut, it shatters under concentrated load.
I’d speculate that a large mass diamond asteroid would shatter whereas a nickel alloy mass would retain its center of energy and, well... I’d opt for the diamond asteroid over my city. I’d be drinking in either case....

The value of all the nickel and iron that NASA believes makes up 16-Psyches oddly-shaped space rock in the asteroid belts outer reaches is estimated at $10,000 quadrillion.More hype from NASA. I'll bet it's worth only half that.

Build a manufacturing complex on it. Mine the metals, make stuff with it (including spaceships) and sell the stuff.

That’s about $1.3 billion for every person on Earth. Elizabeth Warren’s wealth tax can hit them today. At 2% you own $26 million today on the imputed value.

Metal values are based on the relative scarcity or plenty and the ease or difficulty in obtaining them. They drag that sucker back and it’ll have nickel prices bottoming out.

Lets say this is worth $10,000 quadrillion. and then let’s say it’s made out of pure gold. That makes the price of gold worth as much as clay found in the ground. It’s the scarcity of metals that make the value, not the over abundance

It isnt worth squat unless you can efficiently mine it and transport the raw material to Earth wherever you intend to use it.
