I watched it. It was good. Not as great as some people said it was. The kgb types appeared to be believable. From what I’ve heard about Russians and vodka that appeared realistic too.

It was actually terrifying at what might have happened all across Europe and possibly here, had they not (eventually) stepped up.

I thought it was mostly bullcrap myself too. So many inaccuracy's that I gave up on it after episode 3.

The real history is all out there, why did they feel the need to make things up? Oh that's right, it's HBO.

I stopped watching when Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon started the meltdown in episode 2.

They were hardly misrepresented. He needs to explain why the military, and the government in the U.S.S.R. took decades to tell their citizens about the other nuclear accidents that occurred prior to Chernobyl.

Russia: Like Mexico, but colder, and with nukes.

A BLATANT LIE': ...

Well, it's HBO. Hollywood. What did you expect?

It had a 1/1,024% chance of any accuracy.

It was a reactor designed with to too slim a margin of safety (because they preferred to risk the lives of their citizenry rather than use a costlier, safer design) and then mismanaged. Period. Full stop.

The truest thing in the entire series was the typical Soviet joke:

What's as big as a house, burns 20 liters of fuel every hour, puts out a shitload of smoke and noise, and cuts an apple into three pieces?

A Soviet machine made to cut apples into four pieces.
