I usually have a grudging respect for your positions, but in this case I have to disagree. The tie breaking system in World cup standings is score differential. So, all things being equal, your winning margin will determine your seeding in the tournament.

In other words, the entire system rewards running up the score.

This has nothing to do with sex parts.

They do it that way to avoid games looking like this during the second half:

"Right.....Passes it to Center......Passes it back.......Holds it!.......To Center!!! Holds it! Holds it!"

The Goal Scoring was not the issue - rules dictate scoring as many as they can to win 1st tie breaker - the issue is the over the top celebration on goal 9, 10, 11, etc...
