U.S. soccer star Alex Morgan is getting ready to help defend her team’s World Cup title in France next month and if the Americans should win again, she said she’s prepared to decline a possible invitation to visit President Trump at the White House.
Morgan, who has previously been outspoken about Trump and his administration’s policies, told Time Magazine in a lengthy profile published Thursday she doesn’t stand for what the current president stands for.
“I don’t stand for a lot of things the current office stands for,” she said, adding that she doesn’t care for the administration’s policies about separating migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border.
She said she would not go to the White House if the president invites the team. It was unclear if Trump had any plans to invite the team, if they win.
“We don’t have to be put in this little box,” Morgan said. “There’s the narrative that’s been said hundreds of times about any sort of athlete who’s spoken out politically. ‘Stick to sports.’ We’re much more than that, OK?”

I’ve now so thoroughly removed myself from pop culture and sports, I never know who these clowns are anymore.
It’ll have the same effect. Dimm administration will bring it back, moderate Pub will keep it, conservative will either keep it and get the routine boycotts or get rid of it and have the media say, “Yeah, because nobody wants to go see you!” I mean, I’m fine with ending the tradition, but it won’t stay ended.

They did nothing to ease off, even long after the game was a total rout; they did everything they could to run up the score and rub the Thai womens' faces in the dirt. And they never stopped whooping it up in huge celebrations after every goal.
I'd love to see an Open-Letter type of petition we could all sign, to the Thai Womens' Soccer Team to express our regret for the actions of our own team, and to tell them their country is luckier than ours, to have a team that loses with honor, rather than one that wins with dishonor.
