Ticks are hellacious critters. That said, I’ve always wondered why they haven’t been modified to deliver something positive (an antibody or some such thing). Their bite is pretty unobtrusive, and while it’s disgusting to see one of them attached to you, they’re fairly easy to remove. So why not use their saliva-borne injection capacities for something positive?

Just a thought. But personally I hate them, because I hike and I know they’re out there...waiting....

Ticks are hellacious critters.

One summer the whole family picked up a mass of ticks.

After the strip search, we put all the clothes in the washer, then dryer...
Still, living ticks clinging to the clothes coming out of the dryer!

Then we moved up to chemical warfare.
