You get so familiar with Prepyat, the Red Forest, and the entire area, it feels like you live there.

Ha! I love the Stalker series, and you're right - the geography and buildings are frighteningly precise. Just by coincidence, I'd finished Call of Pripyat a week before the HBO series premiered, and I was recognizing specific exterior passages and swingsets.
