Whatever happened to that research into why injuries to the skin of frogs heal so well even in an aquatic environment full of all kinds of nasty microbes? I thought that was going to lead to some sort of super antibiotic.
Back when I used to chop garlic (before Chinese chopped garlic took over everything) I noticed on several occasions that knife cuts healed completely and with amazing speed when the cut finger was covered in garlic juice. Of course it stung quite a lot too, but not as much as the merthiolate my parents doused me with when I was a child of five or six.
I don’t think they even sell that stuff anymore..........
I cut myself pretty good while fixing dinner a long time ago. Maybe a 1/4 inch deep. Stuck my fingers in a bowl of pickled sliced jalapenos. Hurt like crazy. Next day the cut was healed over. Pink skin, no scab.
Had the same experience washing some fresh comfrey root too.
Without the burning pain though.

Snowflake! My parent used tincture of iodine, Made Mercurochrome feel great.” :)
My son visited a lab up in Bar Harbor that is doing research how salamanders can grow their limbs back.
It’s the sulfur.
It’s a miracle cure.
We used it for everything and everyone on the farm.
