Standard practice for POTUS, VPOTUS, and certain dignitaries to travel with a supply of their own blood per Secret Service guidelines.
If you dig, you'll find that there is even a blood fridge in the President's limo. Small supply with a larger supply either on AF1 or support aircraft or vehicles.
I imagine after every election, the first family and others start donating blood every few weeks to build up the supply for USSS and it's always renewed to have fresh stuff on hand.
If you ask me, gore's fridge falling out of a plane is funny in an ironic way. I'll bet the Air Force loadmaster on that flight still hasn't lived it down.
