I also travel to Europe a few times a year, and I always ask myself why would anyone give up the safety, unity and pleasure of living in such advanced, clean countries? And the answer, of course, is that instead of being able to afford only a regular house, and maybe a VW/Audi, by simply moving to MX, a Spaniard can have a huge house with maids, servants and a big Mercedes.
So, Euros give up the nice daily things and become inured to the filth and degradation by taking the additional money earned to insulate themselves. And, it's not a strange way to live. On the contrary, the USA and other 5 eye countries, along with Japan, are the actual anomalies.
