The following video was, for me, one of the most enjoyable 7 minutes on TV in the past few years. This guy may not represent the grand sweep of Roman or Italian history, but does very much represent the endearing southern Italian/American immigrant culture of East Coast cities:

as a kid in grammar school i was tormented for year because of my dark olive skin and big lips (i’m a proud American of italian heritage)...i was routinely called a n!gger and n!gger lips for years on end..
it finally ended when a kid who was the instigator cried to the nun at school after he was called names...he proceeded to call me one of the above names later that afternoon as i was walking off the bus...the next day i beat the living crap out of him and it ended..
true story...

I’m on a dry eye Facebook group and we were lamenting needing A/C tgese days. Someone posted this:
“My last job was in Italy and Italians are terrified of AC and convinced it’s the source of all disease. They covered up all the vents with cardboard and honestly that worked well too!”
LOL, too true. My family in Italy has a disdain about air conditioining, drafts, and ice!
