The doctor should be hanged. Her family that went along with this should receive prison time.
The Dutch settled down to five years of Nazi occupation and gave the Germans very little trouble. They seemed to have learned a lot from the Nazis. Their “underground” did not care enough to rise up and thus they were not free from the Germans until over a week after Hitler killed himself.

Don't mean to make light of rape trauma but if people can recover from a car crash and a year in traction and rehabilitation, it should be possible to recover from rape too.
17 years is too young to make that kind of decision.
There must be a better way. Many better ways.
