London Mayor Sadiq Khan weighed in on his opposition to President Donald Trump's visit to the UK saying Britain would probably 'regret' it, according to reports. Khan, who Trump branded yesterday as a 'stone cold loser,' accused the president of 'amplifying racists' on Twitter."Surely the UK should be saying to Trump 'listen, you're a poster boy for the far right movement around the world'," Khan told Sky News.

Tourist London is still worth seeing if you have a long or overnight connection. There's inexpensive off-season hotels by LHR. You can take "the Tube" from Central Station by T2/T3. If you have time and are off-peak you can get an Oyster card with a refundable deposit. This makes roundtrip about $8. Otherwise RT is about $15.

In December my wife I had a 22-hour stopover. We overnighted for about $70 (including BF), took the Tube to Covenant Gardens, walked through Christmas markets, by Trafalgar Square / 10 Downing / Big Ben / Parliament / Westminster Abbey and returned from Hyde Park (both stops no connections, some of which are outside and cold in December). This took about 5 hours total. The British Museum is free, but we did that a few years ago.

I do think you can still enjoy a trip to Europe, just do a bit of research so you stay in area's where you will feel the most comfortable as well as using common sense like not advertising your tourist state ( I know not always easy when you don't know your way around. People in England are so very friendly and always happy to help tourists. The same in Paris, although their english isn't great but they do try and are also very friendly, so don't write your trips off, it would e such a shame to miss out on the beauty and cultures these have to offer
