A wealthy televangelist explains his fleet of private jets: ‘It’s a biblical thing’
Washington Post ^ | June 3, 2019 | Michael Brice-Saddler

In the waning days of 2015, renowned televangelist Kenneth Copeland laid out exactly why he needs a luxury private jet to do his job: you can’t “talk to God” while riding commercial.

Criticized at the time for his use of extravagant planes, Copeland argued travel for his work would be difficult, nay, impossible without them. The Texas-based preacher invoked his mentor, prosperity gospel preacher Oral Roberts, who Copeland said faced unsolicited requests for prayer when he flew on public airliners, “agitating his spirit.”

Heretic. Did not read in the Gospel about Jesus or the apostles traveling around in litters.

I identify as a Catholic with Protestant/Evangelical bents on some things. I don’t know much about Copeland the man, but I have met with and known several people affiliated with or that attend his church. And they have all been genuine Christians solidly walking with Christ, sharing their faith, ministering to those in need, etc... So regardless of the leader, God is doing a good work through the ministry. Kenneth Copeland Ministries also has a well-known ‘prayer line’ which people can call at almost any time to request prayer and have a live intercessor pray for you. I think it is a great concept.

I feel the same about Joel Osteen”s church. Cannot exactly vouge for the leader’s intentions and character and don’t always get the best feeling listening to them... but God will still work through their ministry.

Kenneth Copeland Unveils New, Greener Jet That Runs On The Souls Of Those Deceived By The Prosperity Gospel

FORT WORTH, TX—In a push for more environmentally conscious ministry practices, Kenneth Copeland has unveiled his brand-new jet that runs on the souls of the thousands of people he deceives every day.

"This new, greener jet runs on the damned souls of all the people I've led to hell through my heretical Word-Faith teaching," Copeland said proudly as he showed off the new jet at his own private airport. "Their torment and anguish as they realize they've been duped burn cleaner and at least 10 times more efficiently than jet fuel."

It's an honor to pray for people.

But I can well imagine how it agitates their spirits. Demons hate prayer, after all.

Fraud, making money off peoples’ gullibility. And getting the tax benefits given to “religions.”

I wouldn’t donate to their ministry but apparently some people do. That’s alright it’s freedom of choice and not illegal. If KCM has several private jets then so be it. Personally I think it’s excessive but that’s between him and God. No one is forced to give. Kenneth Copeland never stole a dime from me but this government has stolen and misused my taxes. 55% of my property taxes goes to the school district. I never had children so I’m being extorted funds for services not rendered.
Enjoy your private jets KCM —-fine by me but no donations. Eff the corrupt government tyrants instead.

I attended a service by Copeland about 25 years ago. He was visiting John Hagee’s church in San Antonio.

I recall two things about the evening:

1. Copeland’s long-winded explanation of how God wanted him to have a $1M jet, and how he convinced his congregation to give it to him (he’s a former airline pilot, and my impression was that he flew the jets himself - at least when he was younger), and

2. The call to give offerings at the end, with attendees going up and leaving large wads of cash on the stairs leading up onto the stage where he and Hagee were sitting.

Now Hagee himself generally (when I used to see him on occasion) steered away from this sort of obvious Mammon-worship, but this particular guest (Copeland) did not. As an aside, Hagee’s fire and brimstone message was quite entertaining in person - he would often stray into politics - he once yelled out that “The President is a whoremonger!” at a service I attended in 1994 - which brought a moment of shocked silence, followed by a smattering of subdued applause because - well - in 1994 it was the truth!!

Copeland, though, has always looked a little ‘possessed’ to me. (As an aside, has anyone else noticed how abnormally large his head is in proportion to his body? Watch for how many other actors/preachers have had this anatomical combination. Its more than a few. Something about it seems to make them appear mroe noticeable on the screen - or to a crowd) ...

I don't blame copeland, olsteen, oral roberts, hinn, the pope, etc. They're grifters who are drawn to easy pickings. If Americans weren't religious, these con artists would probably go into politics.

Americans are to blame. The average American has lost the ability and desire to study God's word and draw their own conclusions. It's much easier to simply let someone else do their studying and spoon feed them the "doctrine-du-jour."

And when these lying thieves start preaching the doctrine of corporate financial enrichment, generous Americans give generously.

But in the end, it's still false doctrine.

2 Tim 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
