QM fails in providing any rationale for the so-called ‘ground state’ being what it is; the point you missed, for the pleasure of a ride on the ‘hobby horse’ you just rode in on.

HOW is not equivalent to WHY, pilgrim. Anyone can see how to paint your gums purple, but why you would want to do that is unspecified. Whether you like it or not, quantum tunneling microscopes work, verifying the QM on which they are based.
