One of my favorite one panel comics had a tiny Godzilla stalking down the middle of a street in New York City. One passerby points him out to a friend and says, I hear hes big in Japan.
The plot was too complicated and preachy, at one point strip mining was being blamed for the 17 titan monsters erupting from underground LMAO.
HOWEVER, I still liked all the loud noisy monster fights and so did my ten year old grandson LOL.
If youre a fan of the silliness of Godzilla, you will like this movie.
Is the Japanese Army in it?
I like those trailers they have that shoot lightning bolts.
Theyd have won The Battle of the Bulge if they had those there.
Godzilla v. The Smog Monster is one of the best! The monster craps all over Tokyo. Named one of the 50 top bad movies.
I raised my son (SR in college now) on Godzilla movie - on VHS tapes.
We caught opening night on IMAX - third row center seats.
CGI is so advanced now - its hard for humans to compete.
Godzilla n friends - so uber epic!
Humans - kinda snoringly cartoonish.
Story line - fairly loyal, with heavy doses of lefty mumbo jumbo.
IMAX - meh.
See it on the big screen - hell yea!
If profanity is a problem, I regret to tell you the trips to the movies are going to be few and far between for you.
I dont share your religious approach, but I respect it. The reason I hate the profanity is that its lazy. I was brought up in a house where the only time I heard it was when my Dad would drop something heavy on a toe, or shock himself when doing DIY electrical work.
Of course he saved some gems for my brother.
But the point was when you heard it, something was very wrong. Itgot your attention. In a movie without much, it certainly gets your attention when it happens.
I find my kids contemporaries use it way too much. But even they dont have the guts to drop one in front of my wife.
The last good Godzilla movie was Shin-Godzilla. It’s like Batman Begins for Godzilla. Starts out weird, but gets real good.
There is also a reference to God as "she". The choice of vulgarity and profanity is of the flesh and is disrespectful as well as a detriment to the quality of speech, writing or film and society. I cannot say that I control all my thoughts, but I do not feel that I need to use vulgarity or profanity, by the grace of God.
However, while the inclusion of vulgarity and profanity and at least partial nudity seems to be part of the DNA of Hollywood, the use of vulgarity and profanity in society at large seems to be noticeably increasing in speech and writing in the last few years, and is one the negative barometers of the morality and quality of society.
Despite the Lord’s name in vain, I liked this movie. SJW villainess gets destroyed by smart white male, loving daughter chooses the father, Godzilla kicks ass and takes names.
It wasn’t as good as the most recent remake, but it was a fun 2 hours. Get special effects and fight scenes.
I’ll give a better 2nd-hand review with no spoilers:
A Conservative radio host in our area went and saw it. He’s a geek and a fan of good genre and production, to state nothing of special effects.
He said it was literally one of the worst movies he’s ever seen and you only get the monsters in full view near the end. Horrible cinematography, acting & screenplay.
He said on-air “don’t waste your money and if you must see it, rent it later.” He was fit to be tied.
