Yep, we played that out at 29 Palms. Let’s just say, it’s all fun and games until someone has to be medevac’d off the playing field with a compound fractured tibia stickin out of their trousers.

I was third grade dodgeball champ at my school, Then a heart murmur sent me to the doctor. They found out I had rheumatic fever and they threw me in a hospital bed for three weeks. Never got a chance to play it again. So much for my shot co-starring with Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. LOL

In the 60’s,We played tackle football drive way to drive way. Then one fall, about 4th grade, the biggest kid showed up with pads. All the neighborhood kids hit up the sears catalog for Christmas and most of us got pads that year. It was a defensive move by the parents. We played every year from 2nd through 6th grade and other than bruises and a little missing skin from getting tackled in the end zone ( both concrete driveways) no one got hurt. We learned to take hits and be good sports. And a lot of us are still good friends to this day.

Absolutely! A couple of my favorite toys were the Man from U.N.C.L.E. spy kit I got for my 6th birthday, complete with the radio that converted into a rifle and the camera/pistol cap guns (the horror!) and a Rat Patrol desert scene kit with the jeeps and dunes and everything. My name’s Mike, and I was almost literally Mike TV from Willy Wonka in the 60’s, when I wasn’t playing outside. Don’t even get my started on the 2-3 creature feature shows I watched every weekend growing up in northern Ohio. Somehow, I was not twisted into a malevolent and violent being, contrary to current beliefs.
