Trump 'deadly serious' about Mexico tariff threat, White House aide says

Donald Trump is “deadly serious” about slapping tariffs on imports from Mexico, his chief of staff said on Sunday, even though the president “intentionally left the declaration sort of ad hoc” amidst fears of damage to the US economy if he follows through on his threat. Mexico could tighten migration controls to defuse Trump tariffs threat Speaking to Fox News Sunday, acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney acknowledged there are no concrete benchmarks being set to assess whether Mexico is acting to reduce numbers of migrants from Central America entering the US via Mexican territory enough to satisfy the White House. “We intentionally left the declaration sort of ad hoc,” he said. “So, there’s no specific target, there’s no specific percent, but things have to get better. They have to get dramatically better and they have to get better quickly.”

Trump has played the better hand so far and I think he has drawn his line in the sand because we cannot realistically expect the house to do anything to fix it.

I know all of us, myself included, are impatient to get this problem fixed immediately, but Trump has been blocked by our own government at every turn.

Trump needs to make this issue the #1 issue in 2020. Vote for border security and sane immigration or vote for open borders.

Probably some effect on the economy. But nothing near the destruction caused by a million low skilled, uneducated, diseased, illiterate people from the most violent areas on earth a month pouring in.

A million I say? Yeah, I know the government says the capture 100,000 a month.

The Government says a lotta things.

And if tariffs kick in, Mexico is self imposing them. They have a choice. If they want to continue facilitating the invasion...they get a tariff.

Their choice.

The president of Mexico has stated that Mexicans have the right to enter the United States at will.

Who seriously thinks he’s going to do anything concrete unless his nuts are in a vice?

President Trump needs to up the ante by citing implementation of The List.

The list goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population)
7) demonstrate English proficiency to acquire citizenship and pass civics test.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to self-deport.

Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.

25% for openers.

Anyone who enters the Country illegally will be shipped off
at Mexico’s expense to the Middle East on a one way ticket!

If another caravan shows up...… anywhere on the border, - Close the Border for 30 days. Increase the Closed border time by 12 months for each successive infraction.

The USA is done supporting the Scum of the World.

>>>I think he has drawn his line in the sand

The problem is, no one knows where it was drawn.

“Mick Mulvaney acknowledged there are no concrete benchmarks being set to assess whether Mexico is acting to reduce numbers of migrants from Central America entering the US via Mexican territory enough to satisfy the White House.”

” demonstrate English proficiency to acquire citizenship and pass civics test.”

This already exists.

Poor Mexico. Where are they going to dump their excess population if they can’t ship them to the U.S.?

The US House could not fix it with the Republicans in control. And then all the big Rino’s in the house threw a hissy fit and resigned. They basically were deep state agents who fell on their swords when they were told too. Well they unfortunately fell on the wrong sword. They valued material wealth over the wealth of their constitution. The one thing that has a chance to last longer then the material wealth.
