Wisconsin Expected To Host Increased Number Of Monarch Butterflies

I am so ready! We have a ton of Milkweed that we’ve added through the years and let self-seed just about anywhere it wants to.

So far I have seen 2 Monarchs, a few Yellow Swallowtails and a few Black Swallowtails. Only a few Hummingbirds this season, too - I think they had a hard time getting through all of the RAIN in Texas and then the middle of America on their way up from Costa Rica. :(

We’ve planted a lot of milkweed this spring.

Mrs. Augie has a bunch of herbs growing in pots on the deck. She noticed yesterday that her parsley was being devoured by swallowtail caterpillars. We also notice them on the florence fennel.
