JACKSON A prior requirement calling for additional fingerprinting for firearm applicants after a two year period is no longer being enforced by the townships police department.
Council President Rob Nixon clarified the issue during a May 28 Council meeting where a firearms organization took aim at Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz for requiring multiple fingerprinting for firearm applicants.
Hightstown resident Alex Aljandro Roubian, the president and managing editor of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) questioned Nixon before and during the evenings session concerning what the chiefs policy was.
According to the organizations website, the NJ2AS is a civil rights advocacy group that fights against unreasonable gun laws. We believe in responsible ownership and use of firearms (the right to carry) as part of our rights as Americans under the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights.
The website also states that groups mission is to educate the public and the legislature on the safe and responsible use of firearms, laws, and policies to protect our freedoms.

Funny, I can’t find any mention of fingerprints in this...
Constitution of United States of America 1789
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Exactly, I agree with you 100%
And this is just for the Firearms Purchase ID, this is NOT a ccw or anything like that.
And don’t forget NJ requires your finger prints, your work history, references (2 or 3 people who know you, who are not relatives), permit fees and your mental status
The homey G’s in Trenton just steal their guns, or buy them off the black market. But law abiding citizens need to go through the worse exam to exercise a constitutional guaranteed right
Like finger prints change every two years?

Slingshots are illegal in New Jersey. It must be quite the place.

Voting is far more dangerous than firearms.
I bet murderers are fingerprinted less often than this town wants to fingerprint gun owners.
No, but it is necessary when the police chief or one of his good buddies owns the Finger Printing company....
The police department doesn’t do the finger prints, an outside company does it. And we all suspect it is politically connected (how else would they get that easy gig)
Could you imagine the outrage from leftists if we required

could you imagine the incoming shiat storm?
I live in Bricktown. Went for a fire arms application about two years ago. The look I got from the clerk could have frozen molten lava. NJ simply does not like the 2nd. Amendment.
Indeed.
New Jersey does not have 2nd Amendment rights.
Same as a bunch of other communist states.
Infringements out the wahoo.
Did you eventually get permission to exercise your rights?
