A man mauled by another passenger’s emotional support dog on a Delta Air Lines flight has sued the airline and the other passenger for negligence.

The lawsuit filed in Fulton County state court alleges Marlin Jackson was in a window seat when a dog sitting in the lap of the passenger next to him suddenly attacked his face and pinned him against the window of the plane.

It’s a fraudulent way to avoid checking your dog into the cargo hold.

It's very hard to get your animal registered as an "emotional support" animal and obtain a certificate...NOT!

They do not belong on planes or in public unless to help the blind.

Or Deaf.

I have a friend who is profoundly deaf and has a dog to alert her to things going on around her.

Great dog. Very well trained and behaved. And that is obvious.

And all dogs should have a muzzle.

Agreed 100%.

Every animal on public transportation should be muzzled.

This is a good example of a well behaved dog. Just don't lock eyes with these dogs as they take that as a threat and challenge. The woman behind the dog should know better.

The dog is listed in the police report as a “chocolate lab pointer mix.”

There you go again! Always trying to bring race breed into the issue!

The police report listed the dog’s owner, Ronald Kevin Mundy Jr. of Mills River, N.C., as a military service member with the U.S. Marine Corps who “advised that the dog was issued to him for support.” The dog is listed in the police report as a “chocolate lab pointer mix.”

Yet first order of business was to ban pit bulls as support animals.....does Chet or that Norway dude work for Delta?

This looks like a slam dunk for plaintiff....gonna need lots of Percocet with a whiskey chaser for those face bites....man that had to hurt.. ....service animals is such pure bull in nearly all cases

Why didn’t the owner of the dog put a muzzle (?) on him. I think they are called muzzles, but maybe not. The point is that [...]

Yes, the word is "muzzle." Very common English word which can be used as either a noun ("Put a muzzle on that dog!") or verb ("Muzzle that dog!"), etc.

Is English your second language?

Can you guys wrote em doug or does it have to be a shrink or other MD?

Remember when flying was a treat?

Beautiful sweet stewardesses

Great food

Pampered

Now it’s Greyhound in the sky

Go to any major airport at rush times and it’s just seas of robots packed onto the concourse and into impersonal craft

And people being fat today it’s such a squeeze

This emotional support animal stuff is nonsense.

Exactly. A bunch of snowflakes and bedwetters who can't face the stress of travelling without their four-legged companion. Grow the hell up.

My sister has allergies to pet dander. I have a much milder case of it. These selfish pet owners just make me sick (sometimes literally). Leave your smelly dogs and cats at home where they belong!

If it was a pit bull or anything close they would have said it

It’s like Trump Derangement Syndrome

Even if innocent pit bull is still blamed

Pit bulls are not even close to labs and pointers

Terrier mix is what you were looking for

I’m disappointed to see that Delta banned a breed of dog from their airline. This last attack was not by an AmStaff mix, so as someone who has a dog which is part AmStaff, I find the stigma frustrating. Dobermans, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers have been through it already, and I’d like for the stigma surrounding Pits to come to an end.

Greta is in training to be a service animal for me, and went through a good citizen training course (bare minimum for emotional support or equivalent) to start with. From here, she can move up.

She’s a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer, and Rhodesian Ridgeback, and is incredibly sweet with everyone, but clings to me like a toddler. I suppose I could claim she has no AmStaff in her, because she looks like a Rhodie, but I refuse to fly at this point anyway.

If you don’t test your dog when it comes to cramped public places, you shouldn’t take them into cramped public spaces.

This is sire of my two uncut males Rotts who at two are technically still adolescents .....who in their right mind would attempt to take a dog like that on a plane....if he lights up he’s a lot to control....I keep my boys around family mostly only and supervised around the babies that are starting to pop up since I’m old and grand pa now....common sense .....Serbian hence undocked
