The movie is scoring when I check 53% Rotten Tomato rating.

Been a huge fan of the Godzilla movies since I was a kid. My kid and I already have tickets for Thursday night and can’t wait!

Ditto here. Loved watching Godzilla flicks on the ABC New York afternoon movie of the day, WPIX and WOR.

I suspect that I’ve never grown up.

Been a ‘Zilla fan since about age 6. My wife would argue I’m still age 6.

It looks from the trailer that like in 2014 almost all action takes place in the dark of night.
They do this to hide the bad cgi and it ruins the movie because you can’t see anything (especially if you watch it on a TV at home)
Just put a guy in a rubber suit already

The Big Guy is looking a little pudgy. He could use some exercise.

I just remember the Fairy Twins in Godzilla vs. Mothra.

“They do this to hide the bad cgi and it ruins the movie because you cant see anything (especially if you watch it on a TV at home)”
Yeah, that’s certainly the case. From the trailers I’ve seen, the “special effects” aren’t really much better than they were in the Godzilla films from the 60’s.

Yeah, I remember that one. It was so dark I couldn't tell what was happening much of the time.

When the Big G was played by a guy in a rubber suit, Godzilla had personality. It’s the anthropomorphism that made the character. That CGI’d wannabe has all the personality of a pet rock.
Bring back the rubber suit.

Gorilla - GOrira
Whale - kuJIRA
Whale + gorira = Go jira = “Godzilla”
plus, he comes from the ocean, and stuff.
So, yeah.

That it exists in a movie where a princess is possessed by the spirit of a Venusian emissary and is the target of Yakuza attacks makes the monster team-up almost secondary. Whoa. Sounds like you're gonna need a scorecard on this one.
